With the summer now in full swing, our Community Lottery Assistants continue attending events throughout the community.
This involves raising awareness of the hospice and its weekly lottery, and having tickets, scratch cards and products available for purchase by the public.
Angela, along with Member Relations Assistant, Andy, and Retail Assistant, Molly, were all at the Driffield Show last week, raising over £400 for Dove House Hospice.
The team have already been at events such as the Scarecrow Festivals, Craft Fairs and many more, with more events planned right throughout the summer and beyond. Even Kofi Smiles, the BBC’s face and voice of the City of Culture, visited our stand at The Big Gig!
Each of the Community Lottery Assistants is supported by event volunteers, without which it would be difficult for us to attend events. Graham Pallister, Volunteer of the Year (pictured below, with Peter Levy), is a regular event volunteer but we need more people to support our team.
Our volunteers get to attend a range of events and landmarks throughout East Yorkshire, promoting different products for Your Charity Lottery. Here’s one of our volunteers, Beatrice, selling wedding favours at Beverley Minster.
If you feel you have spare time to attend events, you enjoy talking to the public and are happy to support the Community Lottery Assistants, we’d be happy to hear from you. You can offer as much time as you’re able - it doesn’t have to be a regular thing or for long periods of time.
If you see a member of the Community Lottery team this summer, please go say hello. They have a number of different ways you can win while supporting a cause close to your heart. Or, if you think you might like to become an Events Volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
