Laura's October Roundup

As always, October was full of lots to do, and with Christmas swiftly approaching, there’s no sign of things slowing down! The first draw in October saw players join us in support of our newest beneficiary, Special Stars. We welcome all players to the draw and wish you luck.

9th - 15th October marked Hospice Care Week. This year, the theme was ‘We are Hospice Care’. With this in mind, we took a look at some of those teams who make the hospices that we support such warm and caring places. This includes you, the players, who play a vital role in ensuring staff at the hospices we work with are able to be there for those within your community at a time of great need. Read our #WeAreHospiceCare stories here.

16th October saw the launch of the Dove House Wedding Loft in Market Weighton, a dedicated bridal shop offering lucky ladies the chance to buy their dream dress at a great price. Our Lucky In Love wedding favours are also available to buy at the Wedding Loft, so please make sure you tell any brides-to-be!

Lindsey Lodge also had a memorable month, opening its first ever community shop on Willoughby Road, in the heart of the local community. They’re hoping the shop will provide a local hub for people to purchase goods at affordable prices and find out more about the work of the hospice. Read more here.

Although it may seem early to some, the team have been working hard on Christmas preparations, ensuring we have lots of lovely Christmas products available for sale. This year we’ve introduced a bauble to our collection! Lottery Christmas products are available for purchase to those over the age of 16, and you can view a full list of our products here.

Sandrine, our Marketing & Communications Officer, has been working hard behind the scenes with Angela Marshall, Community Lottery Assistant, on the Christmas Draw. This year’s draw will offer players the chance to win the year in cash - £2,018!

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of many local businesses, there’s also an Advent Draw with a prize available each day in the lead-up, starting on the 1st December, with a Kindle donated by James Legal Solicitors. Draw packs including tickets will have already started to land on doormats, but should you not receive a pack and want to take part, sign up here.
