WHY SUPPORT US

Pocklington Community Trust
The aim of the Burnby Hall project is to establish a Community Centre and Enterprise Hub, providing meeting space and office accommodation to serve a wide variety of community interest groups and enterprise start-ups, who would otherwise struggle to find a place to undertake their activities at an affordable
cost within the town.

"Burnby Community Hall & Trust means the world
to me at MoveFit Mama. As a new mum starting up my
local business, I’m truly grateful for the affordable hire
rates and the warm, supportive team. It’s one of the few
large spaces in Pocklington that fits my busy classes
and I honestly couldn’t imagine running them
anywhere else."

Pocklington Rugby In The Community
Social isolation can deeply impact mental, emotional, and physical well-being, often leading to increased loneliness, depression, and anxiety. PRITC tackles this by partnering with local organisations to run events and activities that offer support, create smiles, friendships, and a sense of belonging — from afternoon teas to festive feasts.

"Serving Christmas lunches, delivering Easter Eggs, gallons
and gallons of tea and tonnes of lemon drizzle cake, this
group brings joy and companionship to the area and has
changed lives in so many ways. Volunteering is good for
the soul; this group are good for all souls."
