Our Story
Our Scout hut was built back in the 60's and was originally used as the dining hall for the old St Peter's Primary School. When the school built on a new site the hall was donated to the Scouts of Portishead to open up a 2nd Group, this was back in 1991. In Scouting, we believe young people develop most when they are ‘learning by doing’, when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.
What we do
2nd Portishead Scout Group provides an exciting program of activities for our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, aiming to develop their teamwork, leadership and resilience. Leaders strive to enable young people to ‘learn by doing’, giving them the opportunity to work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. We aim to be at the heart of the community by getting involved in events and with our hall available for use by the wider community.
